Engineering Architect

GRIN is seeking a Frontend Engineering Architect to develop the technical strategy for GRIN's Creator Management software. The architect will be a senior technologist, working with development teams, accountable for system design to implement new and existing product capabilities. This role will also work closely with our engineering leaders to identify bottlenecks in our existing software infrastructure and guide the team through a path forward to improve and scale it. 


The candidate will have extensive experience in building Saas applications and platforms with a focus on reuse, maintainability, and simplicity. They will have a demonstrated ability to work horizontally and vertically within our organization; maintaining approachability and humility with all of our staff.

What You'll Do:

  • Create architecture for new products and capabilities that consider reuse, performance, simplicity, and maintainability.
  • Transfer a system design to another engineer with complete understanding through written, verbal, and visual communication
  • Clearly communicate the cost-benefit of a given solution and advocate for the best path forward
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure GRINs products, applications and tools support both security architecture and secure development standards
  • Serve as a role model for mentorship within the engineering organization and encourages innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement
  • Stay abreast of new technologies, patterns, and trends to ensure our implementations are forward thinking and remain relevant


What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years experience designing, building and maintaining highly scalable Saas products, ideally AWS hosted
  • 2+ years experience as an architect for a Saas product or platform
  • Experience architecting and owning complex single-page applications
  • Experience in JavaScript (VueJS), TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with VueJS Composition API or React Hooks
  • Experience with modern front-end testing frameworks
  • Solid understanding of fintech system security, API usage, and general patterns are a plus
  • Feels equally comfortable in architectural reviews, collaborating across other engineering teams, or creating policy
  • Experience using Agile development methodologies
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experience doing large front-end technology migration is a bonus
