GRIN is looking for an ambitious, organized, and proactive People Operations Partner to join our growing company. This person must have a passion for culture, people, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills. They must be able to work independently and with initiative, as well as collaborate effectively with a team. They will be responsible for the day to day functions of People Operations and will provide support and guidance to employees and other business partners. The position focus may switch between recruiting and People Operations.  They will then transition to an HR focus, but will always be available to lead headcount requisitions. The ideal candidate will have a great understanding of California employer/employee laws. 


GRIN is headquartered in Sacramento, CA, yet has a “Remote First” work policy, meaning remote, or work from home, is the default. Therefore this position is open to anyone in the United States who can work Sacramento core business hours. We will give preference to candidates on Pacific Standard Time. When it is safe to do so, we will get together as a team, so in these situations you are required to come into the office.


Essential Functions:

  • Along with the People Operations Manager, oversee employee relations, working with staff to manage issues expeditiously and thoroughly
  • Independently managing headcount requisitions by writing job descriptions, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring candidates for certain positions
  • Assisting with corporate onboarding setup such as new hire paperwork, ordering new hire equipment, and partnering with managers for onboarding schedules
  • Assisting in conducting new employee onboarding for all hires by providing an overview on GRIN’s policies and People Operations practices
  • Developing, raising, and recommending changes to HR policies and procedures that align with and support GRIN’s culture
  • Ensuring legal compliance in all state’s where business is conducted
  • Responding to information requests regarding payroll, benefits, and company policies
  • Reviewing and managing payroll
  • Maintaining and updating job requirements and descriptions for all positions 
  • Managing all organizational charts as well as maintain organization of People Ops shared drive
  • Being an HR Business Partner to various leaders
  • Ensuring the processing of all status changes, including but not limited to transfers, promotions and terminations are entered into HRIS system accurately and in a timely manner
  • Owning reporting
  • Other ad hoc projects as needed



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area
  • 2-3 years of experience working in Human Resources
  • 2+ years of recruiting experience
  • Passion for what you do and making your company a great place to work
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment while being flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong empathy and good business judgement
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Experience with Google Suite a plus
  • Experience with iCIMS applicant tracking system a plus
