While GRIN is headquartered in Sacramento, CA, this position has the ability to be fully remote. GRIN has a Remote First work policy, meaning remote, or "work from home", is the default. GRIN has office space available in Sacramento if you decide to go into the office a few days a week, and there are a few days each quarter that you'll be required to come in to headquarters for quarterly planning meetings, with travel covered by the company.

Position Summary


The VP of Marketing will be charged with building a world-class brand that enables the company vision of category refinement and domination. The role will oversee all of marketing, including but not limited to evolution of the brand story, building out AR/PR efforts, lead acquisition, lead acceleration, content strategy, email marketing, product marketing, events (digital & in-person when possible), internal and external communications, and more. The targets will involve a wide array of marketing metrics such as brand recognition and sentiment vs competition, search visibility, lead and MQL production, pipeline contribution, ROAS, share of voice, and more. This role is hands-on, in the trenches, as we scale the department. We are a data-informed company that prides itself on ownership and taking action. Everyone is expected to know their numbers and own them.


What You’ll Do: 


  • Develop our marketing strategy with a strong focus on brand building, category creation, and developing a best-in-class demand generation engine. 
  • Work with the executive team, sales and other key stakeholders across the company to set and execute the strategy and roadmap for GRIN’s long-term growth. 
  • Lead, manage, and continue to build a high-performing marketing team that scales to match GRIN’s rapid growth. 
  • Lead the marketing GTM strategy including branding, demand generation, content marketing, internal and external communications, public relations, and events.
  • Create marketing programs to drive awareness, and generate, nurture, and qualify leads.
  • Maintain world-class quality standards for all of GRIN’s marketing materials. 
  • Create playbooks and training modules for the successful development of growth skills and initiatives across product, SEO, SEM, funnel optimization, digital marketing, PR, events, etc. 
  • Manage the effectiveness of our marketing technology stack, including Salesforce and Pardot.



  • A great leader and manager of people with 8+ years of SaaS marketing/demand generation experience. Some B2B and B2C preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role, building and managing a marketing function
  • Management experience within brand marketing, demand generation, field marketing, customer marketing, marketing operations or other related areas of marketing 
  • Data-driven executive who has developed shared measurement and tracking of demand generation programs for marketing and sales 
  • Proven track record of measuring and improving the effectiveness of demand generation efforts, partnering with sales to improve them, and reporting those results as well as recommendations up to the executive level.
  • Significant experience with SEO, Paid Media, Organic & Paid Social, E-mail, AR/PR and Events 
  • Proven experience with DTC/ecommerce is required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute successful projects with minimal guidance in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated ability to create forecasting models and manage related marketing spend 
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes within a fast-paced startup environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, execute, and achieve goals on time and on budget
